Obama Continues Waging Deadly Imperialism While His Supporters Continue Making Excuses

The fact US president Barack Obama has recently announced that he plans on leaving at least 5,500 US troops in Afghanistan ostensibly matters very little to his unconditionally faithful supporters. These socially conditioned followers have been programmed to accept the same things they routinely protest when mandated by a Republican. They commonly do this whenever it comes to a Democrat. For instance Obama’s faithful followers (lets call them ‘The Cult of Obama’) had no issue speaking out against or protesting the Bush Administration’s vast theater of war. However, when it comes to Obama’s equally destructive policies, they find no shortage of excuses to justify the carnage he has wrought.
In 2008 candidate Obama stated that he would expand the war/invasion in Afghanistan. He has never been an anti-war president. His slick words have hypnotized the Cult of Obama and placed them deeply within a politically catatonic state. He is a devoted warmonger whose actions speak louder than any hollow rhetoric he might use to psychologically tame his followers. It matters very little to the Cult of Obama that their leader’s policies have destroyed countless lives in places like Libya, Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan, to name a few countries. However this is of little surprise when one considers that fact that Obama’s supporters have done nothing to pressure him to stop his deadly drone campaign, or his war policies.
Obama supporters love to revel about his ability to sing Al Green at the Apollo. They found it amusing that he cracked a joke about drone strikes at a White House correspondents’ dinner. And of course they adore his appearances on late night talk shows. However, they are seemingly resistant in having any worthwhile conversations about his record in regard to war and imperialism. While they chuckle civilians are murdered each day, by way of the US war machine! Obama’s supporters routinely fail to empathize with human beings who are losing their lives because of his destructive foreign policies.
The Obama Administration’s drone campaign has been directly responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent civilians. The US imperialist invasion, the airstrikes, the drone strikes and the ground raids have caused perpetual terror throughout places like, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen and Somalia. It is reprehensible that so many Obama supporters fail to place themselves within the shoes of people who are being destroyed and terrorized by way of US imperialism—-simply because its a brown-faced Democrat calling the “shots”. As mentioned earlier, these people protested the Bush Administration when they were calling the “shots”, however they are now conveniently silent. They are now, in essence, pawns of US imperialism. They have compromised the interests of humanity, simply to help prop up the career of a man who ultimately cares little about them.
The masses buy into anything the corporate media decides to promote. This is why so many bought into the whole Obama “Hope and Change” illusion in 2008. They unconditionally cheered for Obama not even knowing his platform or how he voted as a senator. Now almost 8 years later, the “Hope and Change” mantra has decimated the lives of countless innocent civilians.
Barack Obama bailed out the rapacious banks by the tune of more than 12 trillion dollars. And “Hope and Change” has pushed hard for the Trans Pacific Partnership (NAFTA on Steroids). Obama even publicly told African-Americans to stop complaining about their collective plight within the United States’ institutionally racist society. He does all this and his cult keeps on making excuses.
When Barack Obama is making millions of dollars on his post presidency lecture circuit, his supporters will be little more than an afterthought—unless they are buying is books. This is especially true for African/black members within the Cult of Obama. They will continue to see their communities ravaged by extreme poverty, police terror, vastly underfunded schools, Black mass incarceration and institutional racism. At least Obama’s fraudulent white supporters will have their white privilege to fall back on, however the same cannot be said of his African/black devotees.
Obama is a willing conductor firmly clutching his temporary position at the helm of the US empire. Make no excuse about it; Barack Obama has thoroughly enjoyed his (s)elected position serving as the figurehead of the most destructive imperialist power in human history—-the United States Empire. He has never pleaded with his supporters to do all they can to mobilize against US wars. He has never put up any kind of resistance to the deadly drone program he inherited, and now enthusiastically presides over. And he has never shed a tear for the international communities he has helped destroy. No mea culpa, no contrition…no nothing. Then again, why would he? He is very proud of his nefarious deeds.
For the Obama supporters who decide to awaken from their politically induced coma, they will have to do more than cheerlead in order to end imperialist destruction. They are also culpable for the trail of carnage their false prophet has produced. It is they who voted for him twice. And it is they who made the decision to elevate his career, at the expense of humanity.
Those of you, who are willing to speak out, please continue to use your voices to do so. Use your energy to engage others in real conversations about war and imperialism. These conversations have the ability to lend themselves towards mobilization, and then organization. Join or develop revolutionary organizations within your community that are aimed at social justice and sustained peace. Collectively we must mobilize, then organize towards the necessary construction of a much more humane world—–one that is free of war and imperialism! Never cease being Inconvenient Heroes!
