Democrat Presidential Candidates Continue to Expose Themselves as Devoted Imperialists

By Solomon Comissiong

Most Democrats, whether they publically admit it or not, are just as imperialist natured as their Republican counterparts. The big difference is that Republican politicians are much more vocally honest about their imperialist tendencies. They will run on platforms almost bragging about their desire to aggressively expand the Unites States’ nefarious geopolitical reach. Most Democrats, on the other hand, will masquerade around as if they are “peacemakers” concerned with diplomacy. Nothing could be further from the truth. Historically, Democrats have caused as much global destruction as their Republican colleagues. Imperialist wars, drone strikes the kill mostly civilians, dropping of atomic bombs, invasions of sovereign nations, and overthrows of democratically elected leaders, have all been done under the watch of Democratic leadership, just as it has by way of Republicans. Knowing these facts should make it easier to understand why so-called “progressive” or “anti-war” Democrats usually end up endorsing imperialist candidates within their own party or flat-out championing wars once in office.

Tulsi Gabbard became the most recent Democrat to not only drop out of the race to earn her party’s nomination for president, but she also followed that up by endorsing a Joe Biden. The later decision came as more of a shock to many of her supporters if for no other reason than the fact that she vociferously attacked Joe Biden on much of his record, including his historic pro-war positions. Many of her supporters believed that she meant it when she would openly vilify the likes of Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden for their historic imperialist actions. They believed her when she asserted that she wanted to see the United States ceasing its imperialist actions and the illegal meddling in other countries’ affairs. Again, nothing could be further from the truth, and her endorsement of Joe Biden is strong evidence of that.

If you are truly against murder would you support a cold-blooded murderer?  It might be safe to assume that most people with sound “virtues” would not support the example listed above. Thus, if a political candidate was truly ever against imperialism (which is cold-blooded mass murder), then they would not support a candidate like Joe Biden, who has a proven track record as an imperialist.

It says a lot about the Democrats who dropped out, and then immediately endorsed someone like Joe Biden, just as they did in 2016 when many of them (including Bernie Sanders) endorsed the imperialist war criminal, Hillary Clinton. Unlike their followers, these politicians damn well know Joe Biden’s record. They know he is an imperialist, and they also know he wrote the racist 1994 “Crime Bill”. They endorse him because they are imperialists, as well. They are openly showing that, if given the opportunity to become president, they would jump at the chance to indiscriminately bomb other countries, in the name of Americanism. True, some of these other Democrat candidates never claimed that they were anti-war or anti-imperialism, however, many of their politically domesticated followers, because they devour large doses of toxic corporate news, believe their candidates are anti-war. They are neither anti-war nor are they pro-peace. Ultimately, you cannot have one without the other. In order to be pro-peace, you must be anti war…and anti-imperialism.

Democrats have also championed deadly sanctions (which kills just as many civilians as do bombs and airstrikes) just as Republicans have. It was the Democrat Secretary of State, Madeline Albright, within the Democrat Bill Clinton’s administration, who cold-heartedly stated, in 1996, that the brutal sanctions on Iraq were worth it, when ’60 Minutes’ correspondent, Lesley Stahl, asked her. Even when it was mentioned that these sanctions were directly responsible for killing 500,000 children, she still said that “We think the price is worth it.” Her evil comments were captured on a prime 60 Minutes interview. When it comes to imperialist wars Democrats often tag-team with Republicans on passing destructive legislation aimed at regime change within democratically elected governments.

It was Democrats and Republicans, alike, who banged the drums of war for the deadly 2003 invasion of Iraq, and the indiscriminate terroristic mass bombing of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Very few Democrats opposed these nefarious actions. When it comes to war, these two war parties stand side-by-side. The George W. Bush administration started the drone campaign, however, it was Barack Obama that expanded it and then executed more drone attacks within his first year in office than did Bush within his entire 8-year stint as president. Over 90 percent of those drone strikes were responsible for the mass murder of innocent civilians. Those who are humane understand how utterly evil and cowardly drone strikes are. However, Democrat Barack Obama proudly made jokes about his orders to execute drone strikes, at one of his White House Correspondents dinners. Democrats are not antiwar, they are merely the other half of the war party.

Let us keep in mind that the same predominately Muslim nations that Donald Trump banned from travel to the U.S. are countries that the Barack Obama administration (that included Vice President Joe Biden) indiscriminately bombed, thus killing civilians and destroying infrastructure in the process.

Those who know the true nature of many corporate politicians have an obligation to call out their contradictions. It is vastly important to not only call out fraudulent Democrats but also the imperialist Democratic Party. The Democratic Party ultimately mandates the overall narratives and agenda of whoever emerges as that party’s presidential nominee. Any vestige of progressive or radical politics they might have will be soon be incinerated within the toxic chamber of the DNC (Democratic National Committee). The forces that truly control the DNC are too powerful for any internal candidate to upend. Radical or revolutionary “politicians” need to NEVER find their way into the dark forest known as the Democratic Party. They should either run as true independents or find refuge in places like the Green Party, that already have mandates that are anti-imperialist. Anyone, whether they realize it or not, who supports the likes of Barack Obama, Bill & Hillary Clinton or a Joe Biden, is in fact, supporting imperialism. And imperialism is mass murder—plain and simple!
