The most important one of our lifetime

By Pierre Rudder

This coming US election will be the most important one of our lifetime.

Our choice is between a Democratic candidate who had one of, if not the worst approval rating as a VP in U.S. history, who was in charge of the disastrous open border as VP, and refuses to host a press conference since President Biden’s resignation from the candidacy.

In the absence of any official policy statements on the Ukraine and Israel wars, we can only assume that she will continue her administration’s policies for both- which is simply more war and more provocations against their geopolitical enemies.

She is therefore another “neocon” “globalist” or “war hawk”- pick your terminology. The main difference is- she has less proven competence than any of the previous ones (Obama, Biden, Bush).

What she does bring seems to be an absence of senility, a joyful personality and a lot of donations and backing from the “Deep State”.

On the other side is one of the most controversial and may I say, lied about candidates- Former US President Donald Trump, who expressly claimed that 1. he wants to end the “Deep State” 2. He wants to release classified documents about JFK assassination and, more recently, 3. end both wars in Ukraine and Israel.

Each of these claims are controversial, eye catching and life threatening for the former President, especially given that he survived, via what could only be described as a miracle of good fortune, an assassination attempt.

This choice is ever more important as we are on the brink of world, and perhaps nuclear war given that America’s two proxies (Ukraine and Israel) have taken actions, whether or not with the backing and knowledge of the current administration in Washington, to terminate any chance at peace: Israel’s assassination of Hamas political head and chief negotiator, Ismail Haniyeh and Ukraine’s Kursk incursion, which has displaced an estimated over 200,000 Russian civilians and killed an unknown amount.

Now more than ever, the world needs a U.S. leader who is both willing, and more importantly, competent and respected enough worldwide to be able to negotiate peace.

Someone who understands the issues and context of both wars, who has a proven track record of conducting tough negotiations and who, leaders such as President Putin, Xi, Khamenei and Netanyahu would respect and have time for…

To me, that choice is simple and cannot be Kamala Harris.

It has been 37 days since the VP became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee yet she has avoided holding a formal press conference or sit down interview while, according to yahoo news, her opponent, Donald Trump, held his second press conference in a week since August 6th where he answered 81 questions in interviews including a 2 hour session with Elon Musk.

It is clear to me that the VP is avoiding having to speak without a teleprompter, either because she is not confident in her knowledge and ability to answer questions without a script or she is purposefully being hidden by her backers and donors because they want to mask her war mongering policies behind a facade of joy, laughter and “vibes”.

This is not a time to be so careless in the choice of the leader of the “most powerful” country in the world.

I fear that both Russia and Iran are plotting their retaliation for the blatant disregard of “red lines” by Ukraine and Israel.

Perhaps they await the US election to see if Trump is elected, who, as part of his foreign policy, expressed a willingness to sit down and talk to end the wars.

If not, I fear our “enemies” may see no hope or use in speaking with Kamala, whose administration they have no trust in. They will pull the trigger and we will all be embroiled in the most dangerous moments in our history- a world war.

These are the stakes we face geopolitically. The world needs peace- and a new world order- a multipolar one.

The unipolar moment must end. And with it, the insidious deep state that has ruined the American empire and the lives of countless people who have been subject to its wars and imperialism.
